Procedure For Recruitment

  • In the beginning the recruitment of reserve police and district police was processed separately. In 1988, direct appointment in district police was banned. New recruitment is done directly in Reserves and Rangers police. The following procedure is adopted for this process.
  • In the context of district-wise quota, new available vacancies are filled through advertisement.
  • Appointment process is completed in 03 stages
  • First stage: Document checking – measurement – race (local distt.)
  • Second stage: written exam – papers marking through selection board (Region wise)
  • Third Round: Interview through Selection board. The selection boards prepare district wise final merit lists and submit to CPO Muzaffarabad. From CPO the final merit lists are sent to SP reserves and Rangers Police and the recruits are Police Training School Muzaffarabad for their basic training (RTC).
  • For constable appointment criteria/terms & conditions are as under.
    • Education: at least matriculation.
    • Height: at least 5’x7’’.
    • Chest: at least 33’’x34-1/2’’
    • Age: 18 to 28 years.
